At The Diner, Spencer reveals that he cannot pay for their meal, but promises to come back with the money. He later works off his debt and tells Roo that his parents are dead. Spencer and Maddy spend the night on a boat, before moving to the local high school. When they learn that Roo knows they are staying at the school, Spencer and Maddy initially disagree about contacting her. She and Harvey bring them back to Summer Bay House for the night.
He tries to persuade Kirby to form a band with him, before quitting Lyrik and driving out of the Bay. Johnson relished the chance to play a character who was the opposite to the sensitive, moralistic Matt Knight, who he played in Doctor Doctor. He wanted to push himself in his career and found playing a villain was "exciting".
Relationship with Ruby Buckton
Oscar, Evelyn and Kyle are locked inside a shipping container. Ethan goes to the hospital to tell Hannah not to worry about the twins anymore. Shortly after, a bomb explodes, leaving Ethan badly injured. Hannah helps him, but he later goes into cardiac arrest and dies.

He does not know how to act around others and can be impressionable. Casey also has deep rooted issues with his anger; Younes said that he empathised with the way Casey feels due to his previous experiences. Jamie attends a fundraiser at Angelo's Restaurant in Summer Bay and catches the eye of Leah Patterson-Baker. Her friend, Marilyn , goes up on stage and reveals to Jamie that Leah likes him.

Gallagher said Josh did not trust Brax, but the offer was tempting as he did not want to stay on the beach anymore. The actor also explained that Josh's attitude towards the Braxton brothers had always been influenced Andy. He added, "deep down, he doesn't hold the anger and resentment Andy does. His attitude towards them isn't necessarily changing, but he is seeing another side to them." Josh is portrayed as being troubled, but also someone who tries to do the right thing.
Andy was initially unaware that Jake had previously killed Brax's partner, and what the details of his revenge plan against Brax were. Brax believed Andy when he told him he was trying to stop dealing drugs, as did Josh and Casey. When Brax invited Andy over to his house to help Josh get ready for his formal, Andy was surprised by the warm, family atmosphere and realised that they did not deserve what Jake was planning. Andy told Jake that he did not want anything bad happening to Brax, but Jake said it was too late and he had Josh kidnapped off the street.
Casey Mitchell (Home and Away)
Tamara tries to support Casey through his recovery despite his reluctance to use his wheel chair or attend physical therapy. When he researched the storyline many of the stories he encountered upset him. Pasvolsky described Tim as being suave and well dressed, adding that he has a "New York energy" about him. He becomes annoyed with her constant dealings with the Braxtons. She and Brax continue to argue and they eventually confess their love for one another, but she decides to stay with Zac.
Sasha distances herself from Rosie, who befriends some other teens from the school. Rosie kisses Alexander Mullens and he brags about taking advantage of her. Sasha tries to get Rosie to stop hanging out with Mullens, but she refuses.

In 2014, Josh was written into Andy's drug dealing storyline. Josh was set upon and physically assaulted by the drug dealers Andy was working for, after they mistook him for his brother. Josh turned to Evie for help and came to the farmhouse, where her aunt Hannah Wilson treated his wounds. Evie realised that Andy was the intended target and he begged Hannah not to call the police, claiming that the drugs she found at the house some days prior belonged to her brother-in-law Zac MacGuire .
Kyle soon returns after learning of Brax searching for Casey and forces both he and Tamara into his truck. She seriously injures Kyle after throwing a lit petrol container at him, which alerts Brax to Casey's location. Whilst driving her home from Heath and Bianca Scott's beach party wedding reception, Casey and Maddy are run off the road by Josh and Andy Barrett and he sustains a spinal injury.
Natalie is a school counsellor, who helps Sasha Bezmel and Casey Braxton . A writer for Channel 5 said she would "have her work cut out for her" due to the amount of teen drama in Summer Bay. Mack described her character as having "a very selfless quality and determination to help others that I really admire." She stated that Natalie "is passionate and strong", but she does have flaws. Mack added that Natalie went through some tough times as a teenager, which forced her to grow up quickly. When asked if Natalie interacts with the Braxton brothers, Dan Ewing quipped to a TV Week writer that she has "no direct cuddles" with his character. In June 2012, it was revealed Natalie would become Darryl Braxton's love interest.
Casey BraxtonJosh Barrett is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by Jackson Gallagher. The actor was initially hesitant about auditioning for the role, as he believed he was too old to portray a 16-year-old. However, three days after attending the audition, he learnt he was successful. His character was introduced along with his on-screen brother Andy Barrett through a series of online webisodes titled Home and Away Extras.
However, he later admits to Brax that he is spending time with Danny, so he can stop him from targeting Ruby and her money. When Danny tells Casey to shoot the owner, he refuses and shoots Danny instead and he dies. Casey struggles to cope with what he has done and he later goes out to the forest with Sasha, where he has sex with her. Casey is kidnapped by his Step brother, Kyle Bennett who wants to avenge their father's death and is taken to the desert.
He wants to make peace with Danny, so he will feel like a better father towards his son. The TV Week writer explained that there is not a happy family reunion, with Danny's desertion and his criminal past still sore points for Heath. Roz Laws from the Sunday Mercury called Danny a "deadbeat dad". Jett James, played by Will McDonald, made his first screen appearance on 7 May 2012. McDonald told Andrew Mercado of TV Week that he was "stunned" to get the role of Jett. He explained "I was speechless at first. I honestly thought I was in a dream, and then as reality faded in I realised this was really happening." The character of Jett is McDonald's first television role.
Melissa gets a job at the hospital and she goes out for dinner with Sid Walker , her new colleague. During her shift at the hospital, a life-threatening car accident comes in and Mel states that she cannot face it. She later reveals to Harvey that she is struggling to cope with their son, Ben's, death. Mel become angry with Harvey when their finances fall into disarray and he has to sell their house. When Lottie comes to her to talk about her relationship issues, Mel snaps at her and Lottie moves in with Harvey.

His exit storyline begins after the Braxton's feud with the Pivoric family heightens. Casey goes to Jake Pirovic's headquarters and sets fire to the building. Younes told TV Week that Casey commits arson to stop tension between the two gangs, but just makes the situation worse. Casey realises the ramifications of his actions and acknowledges that he did not want to turn out like his siblings. Younes said that Casey's "whole demeanour and mood changed because he knows what he's done".
